The next enrollment starts the last week of January 2018! Hurry to reserve your place now!

The Newport Massage School (TNMS) prides itself on its unique integration of the healing arts while on the cusp of becoming federally approved for “Title Four Funding”, aka FAFSA government student loans! Students learn how to blend these unique time-proven modalities upon a traditional, allopathic western platform, creating a uniquely powerful and comprehensive certification program.  Students looking for an alternative to ‘cookie cutter’ massage education will thrive at TNMS.  The 750-hour massage program, which meets tri-state licensing standards (RI, MA & CT) provides “education for employment” where graduates are in high demand at local spas, medical centers, the Massage Envy chains, yoga studios and collaborative healing arts locations.

S.A.M.A. is the acronym for Sacred Stone Academy of Massage and Ayurveda, and is the Mother School for TNMS where students can immerse themselves into the ancient concepts and theories of Ayurvedic medicine and become Registered Ayurvedic Health Counselors approved by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). This type of counseling is akin to “Life Coaching” and is excellent vocational adjunct to massage therapy, yoga instruction, healing arts professional or anyone interested in self-healing. The World Health Organization in GA recognizes three top medical systems in the world: 1. Allopathic Medicine2. Tradtional Chinese Medicine3. Ayurvedic Medicine. Oprah, Dr. Oz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jim Carey and many other Hollywood celebrities are advocates of Ayurveda, as it is the wave of the future. Many allopathic doctors and licensed health care professionals already integrate it into their practices successfully.

Students at TNMS also graduate with an Ayurvedic Bodywork Specialist (ABS) Certification and qualify for opportunities for on-campus and online continuing education and preparation for the National MBLEX Massage Exam. Karyn Chabot, the school’s owner, has her masters degree in Ayurvedic medicine, pioneered the Hot Stone Massage Movement in 1999 (called Sacred Stone Therapy), has been a licensed massage therapist since 1997, is a nationally certified yoga teacher and trained extensively with Dr. Vasant Lad, one of the most renown and respected pioneers of Ayurvedic medicine in the USA.  Her carefully selected faculty are the best of the best on the east coast.  Their passion, devotion and deep knowledge of Ayurveda and other traditional therapies carry over into the classroom and into the hearts of each student. TNMS has created an amazing community of kindred spirits, where life-long friendships are fostered and cherished.

TNMS is in Candidate Status with NACCAS, approved by the RIBGHE, NCBTMB, NAMA, the VA Department for the GI Bill and a professional member of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association). Please visit our website to book a student massage, for more information about enrollment!
